Celebrity Golf Challenge Highlights 2008
Footballers draw level
3 days of competitive golf at the Ocean and Royal courses at Vale Do Lobo saw the footballers level the series with consistent performances from all the team. Top sportsman was Teddy Sheringham with an impressive 74 points over 2 days, whilst Allan Lamb finished second on 68, and Alan Shearer 2 points further behind in 3rd on 66. Sir Les Ferdinand showed there was room for improvement and subject to selection will be looking to improve next year.
In his post event Speech Captain Shearer gave as good as he had got last year from his fellow captain and suggested there were question marks over places for Walsh and Ferdinand. Brian Lara thoroughly enjoyed himself and was confident that the cricket team could do better next year.
