Footballers defeat Cricketers
The footballers raced to a 3-2 lead with a majestic showing from their big guns. Yorke and Sheringham playing solid golf on both days to lead the footballers home by a record margin. Lara once again played a captains innings but the middle order collapsed and the tail had little to offer. Captain Lara has called for a selection review so watch this space for new blood next year. Lomas and Walsh performed better in Monty's than on the course and they will be hoping their skipper is happy not to change a winning team.
A special mention to our individual winner - Paul Ward, a sterling performance in the bar and on the course. The 1 handicap golfer led the field closely followed by Graham Bell and Charlie Simpson, who could not capitalise on a huge day one score of 40. Finally congratulations to Direct Golf UK for winning the team stableford and to Kitbag for their day one scramble win.
